Hello RCHS clients,
As many of you know, Health Canada has approved the use of two new vaccines against COVID-19.
We realize that you have questions – good questions – that need to be answered before you can feel confident in these vaccines. Although we do not yet know exactly when the vaccine will be available to our clients, we want to provide some information to help you learn more and feel confident when it becomes available to us locally.
Public Health Units across the province have been tasked with coordinating the vaccination efforts for their individual health unit regions. Our local, Leeds Grenville and Lanark (LGL) district health unit has the answers to many frequently asked questions about the vaccines including information about distribution. They update this information frequently as it becomes available or changes. LGL public health Covid 19 Vaccine information and status
In addition, local physicians from the South East region have helped to create an excellent video to address many of your questions. Watch this video of Local Medical Officers of Health and Physicians Answering Questions About the COVID-19 Vaccines.
Vaccination against this virus is going to be integral to us all being able to move forward. So please, take a moment to browse this information and find out more about the vaccines, vaccine safety and the plan for local vaccine distribution.
In the meantime, we will continue to be here to serve you through our offices and hope you will stay safe while continuing to follow public health guidelines.
Supporting you in health,
Your RCHS team
