Rideau Community Health Services extends a heartfelt thank you to the Chief Fire Officer’s Association of Leeds and Grenville, as well as all local area fire departments for their support during the first Annual Fire Department Food Drive.
The Fire Department Food Drive was an overwhelming success! In its first year, this initiative resulted in over 4,000 pounds of food being collected, and $8,500 raised in donations to be shared amongst 13 food banks in Leeds & Grenville to support the increased need in our communities.
On behalf of the Chief Fire Officer’s Association, and our local food banks, we would like to thank our wonderful communities for the many donations in support of those in need.
Special mention goes to the local fire departments including:
- North Grenville
- Merrickville
- Elizabethtown-Kitley
- Augusta
- Athens
- Prescott
- Rideau Lakes
- Front of Young
- Brockville
- Gananoque
- Leeds and Thousand Islands
- Edwardsburgh Cardinal
The Rideau Community Health Services Food Cupboard Program located at the Merrickville site supports individuals and families in our communities on a monthly basis, thanks to the generosity of our clients, local residents, and community supporters. Donations of non-perishable food items (such as canned foods, dried foods, pet foods) and hygiene products are always welcomed.
