Sharon and her dog George relocated to Jasper Ontario in 2022 to be closer to family and plant roots in this community after a lifetime of moving around the world. Born in Montreal, raised mostly in Oakville Ontario, her career in Human Resources, Leadership Development and Strategic Planning took her to Toronto (GTA), Vancouver, Spokane Washington, Bentonville Arkansas, and Shenzhen China. A lifelong learner, Sharon is a graduate of the University of Guelph (BA, MA), Sheridan College (Post Graduate DipHR) and PhD level courses at both the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and Gonzaga University. She is a passionate advocate for Indigenous reconciliation, Human Rights and the need to include disparate voices in shaping the future. Working remotely as the Sr. Director, Strategy and Research for a Toronto based Not-For- Profit, Sharon enjoys spending time in her garden, mastering the art of sourdough baking, catering to George’s demands and celebrating the amazing accomplishments of her nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Travelling through the world dealing with her own complex mental and physical health problems reinforced the importance of community-based care focused on prevention, inclusion, and accessibility. The RCHS is an amazing example of the impact of a wholistic, integrated health model and Sharon is excited to be part of the team.
