Bridget lives with her partner in Merrickville having initially moved from the south of England to Ottawa in early 2020. After qualifying in the UK as a Registered Nurse, Community Nurse, and Practice Teacher, Bridget worked as a Clinical Specialist and Nurse Advisor before taking up Service Management, Transformation, and Policy roles within integrated health and social care. In 2010, she moved into the non-profit sector as Chief Executive of a provincial-level charity and social enterprise tackling inequality through community development. This included operating a Healthy Living Centre which included a multi-professional General Practice, Pharmacy, Child Contact Centre, Community Café, Recording Studio, and Community Radio station and offered offices and community meeting spaces. The charity also delivered contracted services such as NHS Health Trainers, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Family and Career Support, out-of-hours mental health and well-being services, and Men in Sheds.
Since her arrival in Canada, Bridget has been a volunteer Tool Librarian and Fundraiser for the Ottawa Tool Library, and a student at Carleton University, where, in 2022, she was awarded a Master of Philanthropy and non-profit Leadership.
